    1st EU-Japan EPA Forum, Copenhagen

    As the founder and curator of the EU-Japan EPA Forum series, the inauguration event staged at the Historic Stock Exchange in Copenhagen was the first major international business conference convened before the finalization of the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) representing over 630 million people and 40% of global trade flows. The Forum brought together the key policy architects behind the EPA including stakeholders, senior business leaders and investors from across Europe and Japan.

    Keynotes were given by Taro Kono, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Cecilia Malmström, EU Trade Commissioner, Ambassador Yoichi Suzuki, Former Chief Negotiator for the Government of Japan for the Japan-EU EPA Negotiations, with executive speakers from AIRBUS, Alstom, J.P.Morgan, Mizuho Bank, NEC, Ericsson, MHI Vestas, Fujifilm, Novo Nordisk amongst others.

    With the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA)’s entry into force on February 1, 2019, the 2nd EU-Japan EPA Forum was the landmark Forum staged over 2 days on May 16-17, 2019 at the prominent Principe Di Savoia in Milan. Executives from over 20 countries gathered to better understand and unlock trade, investment, JVs, M&A and project investment opportunities, using the EPA platform. Moderated discussions were led by senior journalist from Bloomberg, Reuters and The Economist Group.
